He Is Risen!

                                    Easter

The word Easter, brings hope to the heart just as the word, Spring.
This year, after a harsh winter, it is so refreshing to see some signs of spring.   Only a few weeks ago the tree outside my kitchen window was encrusted in ice.   It was beautiful with its limbs sparkling like diamonds. God has His way of sending beauty into the darkest corners.  Now, the sun is shining brightly in a vivid blue sky, bringing hope after a discour- aging winter.  There are faint glimpses of green on those limbs which were a short time ago covered with ice. Many hearts today are encased in ice, bitter because of the circumstances of life.  But God in His love can bring new life, new vigor  into a lifeless heart.  Have faith, He is present and He is in control of all things. As we view the sunshine and feel the hint of spring in the air, our hearts take on new life.  God has not forgotten us.  Our sorrows will pass away just as the winter has surrendered to spring's glorious life.  Our Savior died that we might have life everlasting.  When He arose from the grave on Easter morning, He brought the promise of new life for all who accept Him and His sacrifice.  But He did not remain on the cruel cross or in the borrowed grave - He Is Risen!

      "The tomb is empty!
        He is not there!
       Now His Spirit is
        Present everywhere!

Lord Let Us Not Forget

Lord, let us not forget
What You did at Calvary.
May our reverent thoughts be set
Upon Your majesty.
Your death on the cross
Seemed to show that You failed.
We know it is our loss,
If we don't believe that You prevailed
O'er death and sin and shame
On that fateful day.
May we honor Your Holy Name
On this blessed Easter Day!

Don't Protest - Pray!

In this terrible time of war, we are all listening and watching carefully the events as they occur. Our hearts go out to the families of those captured, injured, or killed. Through this difficult time we need to keep  in mind that God is in control of all things.   We need to be loyal and thankful most importantly to our troops, then our allies and our leaders. Thank God we have a Christian leader in the White House who prays to God and tries to follow His commands. For those  many in the world who are protesting what is being done, we pray that they will have a change of heart.  They should realize what a message they are sending to our troops who are risking their lives in an humanitarian effort to free the citizens of an evil regime. Yes, and to intercept any plans for more disastrous terrorist attacks on our own nation.  We would say to them: "Don't Protest - Pray!  Support Our Troops!

"Thus saith the Lord unto you, Be not afraid nor
dismayed by reason of this great multitude: for
the battle is not yours, but God's."
Second Chronicles 20:15
