Merry Christmas
Are you tired of the
simple way everyone says, "Merry Christmas"? Do you often wonder if they really
mean it?
Do you wish for a new greeting that would add some joy
to the holiday? Do you grow weary of the same old customs
and the same decorations, and the same Christmas cards
from family and friends? Has all the bustle of Christmas
become tiring and without meaning? Have you lost the love
of sharing with others? Perhaps we all need to take inventory
of our true feelings and remember the spiritual meaning of Christmas and where it
started. We need to remember the
warm glow that covered the troubled world that magic night
so long ago in faraway Bethlehem. How our world today needs the same love and caring
that came that night!
If we can allow the true
spirit of the Season to enter our hearts,
we will find a new meaning to the old customs and there can
be a new ring in our voices as we greet each other with the
old tried and true message of "Merry Christmas."
"When
they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceeding
great joy."
"How good it is for
those who are bereaved ad sorrowful
that our Christian festivals point forward and upward as well
as backwards; that the eternal joy to which we are drawing ever nearer is linked to
the earthly joy which has passed away."
Here it is Christmas Day
again! A milestone in the year. We
pray that all hearts will turn to the true meaning of
Christmas. So much is lost in the hustle and bustle of trying
to find joy and happiness in a topsy-turvy world. If only we
would realize what Christmas really means and worship
God and His Son, we would find that peace and happiness
we seek. It only comes from Him. So many are sad and
unhappy because they are alone or they have their minds
and hearts set on the wrong thing. It is a sad day of
remembrance for many. Loved ones have gone since the last Christmas.
Others are near their own time of passing. Some
are disappointed in this life that living is a task, let alone celebrating. Our
hearts go out to them. .
