JULY

J -uly, the month we celebrate
                 U - S. A. and her birth.
L - et us our hearts rededicate
Y   - es, to the greatest nation on earth.

"Yes,we did produce a near perfect Republic. But will they keep it?
Or will they in the enjoyment of plenty lose the memory of Freedom?
Material abundance without character is the surest way to destruction."
~ Thomas Jefferson ~

A Chosen Nation

"But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation,
a peculiar people: that ye should show forth the praises of Him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvelous light:Which in times past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy. "
~I Peter 2:9,10~

These words, written by Peter, were penned particularly to show Christians how privileged we are.  We, as Americans, can apply them to our citizenship in the greatest nation on earth.

We are a chosen 'people' - chosen by God to enjoy life in 'holy nation' which was ordained by God.   Our forefathers established this 'Nation under God' so we can enhjoy freedom of worship.  We should stop and praise Him for the wonderful heritage we have enjoyed for over two hundred years.

As Americans we are different - we should behave differently before the world. Where else have so many various nationalities blended into a free nation?  'A peculair people' - a great melting
pot for all who were brave enough to come to our shores and become 'Americans'.  God, in His great mercy, allowed our ancesters to form this great nation.  We were privileged to be

born here.

May God ever be our Guide and help us to keep the torch of freedom burning brightly.  May our great country always be a 'Nation under God with liberty and justice for all'. Many evil
forces are at work in our nation today. Let us unite in prayer for our leaders, for each other, for our spiritual health, that we may
truly remain a nation 'chosen by God': 'a holy nation' of 'peculiar
people' who dare to be different: who praise Him Who has called us out of darkness into 'marvelous' light: a nation of people who
are 'people of God' who have 'obtained mercy.
