   Spring

Spring has sprung,
The grass has riz;
I wonder where the birdies is!

M - arch, the month when Spring begins
A - ccepting the change as Winter ends.
R - aging winds mixed with warm sunshine,
C - alling us to enjoy each welcome sign of
H - andiwork only God can design.

Oh, what a welcome sight awaits us! Bright colored flowers after the gray of winter.  The snow, the ice-covered trees and the dismal sky make a monchromatic picture.  The only bright spots are the red
cardinals and the blue jays.  With the first signs of springtime, our spirits are lifted, but don't get too excited, fickle March still has some surprises for us.   Spring is a beautiful, rejuvenating time of the year, but Winter will linger to show its last burst of cold and to let us know she is not gone yet.  March always brings the feeling of being alive again.  March, although hiding some chill in the air, promises us a loveliness of which no other month can boast.  The first bright burst of color comes with the tulips and crocuses, the green of the grass and the bright blue of the sky.  God has not forgotten us amid the drabness of the winter.  He knows exactly what we need and when to send it. It's time to come alive again!  Let us take a lesson from Nature and put on our brightest colors and our warmest smiles.

All of the plants and animals of nature are aware of the seasons of the year.  In the Spring they come alive with leaf and flower after a quiet Winter of waiting.  God planned this regular rhythm, this natural order of His universe.   We humans need to be as trusting and reliant upon God as the creatures of Nature. He has a plan for our lives, too.  There is a time to worship, a time to work, a time to rest, a time to have fellowship, a time to be alone.  Life, to be content, must follow God's rhythm. (fhc)

"To every thing there is a season, and a time to
every purpose under the heaven; a time to be born,
and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to
pluck up that which is planted."
                                            Ecclesiastes 3:1-2

SPRING

Spring will come and Winter will be forgotten,
Warm sunshine will brighten all the earth.
Soft rain will fall and replenish the foliage,
Sleeping animals will stir and herald new birth.

Flowers will bloom to grace their surroundings.
Birds will sing glad tidings for all to hear.
Crisp Spring air will be clean and refreshing
And we will know that our God is very near.

He is in control of earth and all of its beauty.
He sends it to give discouraged mankind hope.
If we relinquish our problems to the Master,
He will give us courage and grace to cope.

So, welcome Springtime with a hearty spirit,
Be joyful that we have a God Who cares.
Enjoy the beauty His hand has created,
And remember to thank Him in your prayers.

"For lo the winter is past, the rain is over and gone.
The flowers appear on the earth, the time of singing
has come and the voice of the turtle dove is heard
in our land."

Song of Solomon 2:11,12
