Autumn is with us again. One of the most beautiful times
of the year. God in His wisdom knew we needed the beauty
to help us face the harsh winter. It is sad to see the dying
leaves and the fading flowers but God touches everything with vibrant color. The leaves
fall dead to the ground but not before
they show us their blazing glory. Oh! if we as humans could
end our stay on earth this way! It would be wonderful if we
could get more beautiful when it is time for us to go. If our
heart could be more loving, if our mind could be more tolerant,
if our spirit would grow closer to our Maker and if we could
leave something behind to inspire new growth in the next gen- eration,
how much more wonderful our home going would
be! Growing old is not a curse - we can accept it as a blessing
and let God lead us down that glorious pathway of beauty.
He is waiting for us there and He will not leave us to face
the end alone.
"I remember how the forests, ere they dropped their leaves,
put on the most glorious colors, and smiled in the face of the frost; and every
leaf, as it fluttered helplessly from its perch, rejoiced
in the bud which it had left beneath its stem as the prophecy of
another spring." ~ William

dying and behold we live."
