FEBRUARY - THE MONTH OF LOVE
February is an interesting month
Filled with thoughts of love.
The greatest love that we can have
Comes from our God above.
When we have this love He gives,
Others will readily know.
The kindness that exudes from us
Brings to out face a glow.
Show your love to those about,
Let them know you care.
The tiny spark that you ignite
May burst into a flare;
A signal to others all around
That you have love to share.
May it grow till we're all consumed
With God's love everywhere!
~ Fern Hanlin Coberly ~
TO LOVE OR NOT TO LOVE
To love or not to love -
Many times we have a choice.
We can shut out those about
Or we can listen to the voice
That cries out from our heart
To let our fellowmen draw near,
To love them without condition.
To allow them to become dear,
To become a part of our life,
To share what we have to give,
To bask in sweet fellowship.
We can choose how we want to live.
Many times we miss out
On sweet blessings from above
If we deny others access
And refuse them our love.
~ Fern Hanlin Coberly ~
LOVE
God put us here to learn to love.
"As I have loved you, also love one another"
He has set the example before us
To unselfishly love our sister and our brother.
We may become famous, we may become rich,
But love is the greatest treasure.
We may do good works and live to serve
But how we love is our true measure.
We may attain the greatest culture,
We may be kind and giving,
But if, in all of this, we fail to learn to love,
We have missed our reason for living.
If, in the midst of all of our duties,
Our trials, joys, sorrows and strife,
We are not growing in love,
We're not learning our lesson in the school of life.
God has given us the greatest textbook
And the finest teachers ever found.
It is our duty to learn what they teach
And to spread His love all around.
~ Fern Hanlin Coberly ~
"If God so loved us, we ought to love one another."
I John 4:11
LORD, LET ME BE SENSITIVE
Lord, let me be willing
To help others as I walk among then today.
Let me share their heavy burdens
And lighten their load along the way.
Let me be sensitive to their many needs.
Let me hear their feeble cries.
Perhaps their voice is silent,
But let me see the hurt in their eyes.
Give me the strength to help them.
May my heart be willing to give.
Let me bring comfort where they are hurting,
Let me meet them where they live.
Let me tell them of Your precious love,
The One Who died that we might live.
Give me the grace and the patience
It takes to unselfishly give.
May the one who has lost a loved one
Be comforted by You through me.
May the one who is painfully suffering
Find peace and relief with Thee.
~ Fern Hanlin Coberly ~
"This is my commandment, that
ye love one another,
as I have loved you."
John 15:12
"Bear ye one another's burdens,
and
so fulfil the law of Christ."
Galatians 6:2
AFFLICTED FOR OUR TRANSGRESSIONS
Jesus lived on earth as a human.
He knows all that we endure.
He faced every temptation we face,
Yet, His life was always pure.
He was afflicted for our transgresstions,
He died that we might live.
It must have broken His Father' s heart,
His precious Son to give.
He knows about the pain we bear,
He walked the paths we trod.
He left footprints for us to follow,
That we, too, might live with God.
Although He's now in Heaven,
He accompanies us every day.
He walks beside us in Spirit.
All we have to do is pray.
~ Fern Hanlin Coberly ~
"He was oppressed, and He was afflicted."
Isaiah 53:7
THE HEAVENS SHOUT OUT HIS GLORY
The heavens shout out the glory of God,
The firmament His handiwork does show.
Day after day they speak to us,
God's glory for us to know.
Their voices are heard in every language;
Their truth goes out to all the earth.
Their words speak to the ends of the world
Announcing each new day's birth.
The law of the Lord is perfect,
It restores the downcast soul.
The testimony of the Lord is certain,
It makes the simple mind whole.
The words of the Lord make the heart rejoice
And enlighten blinded eyes.
The fear of the Lord endures forever,
His judgments are righteous and wise.
They are more desirable than precious gold;
Sweeter than the honey in the comb.
Those who are forewarned and keep them,
Never far from their teachings roam.
Lord, help me understand my errors;
Keep me from presumptous sins.
Let them not rule over my actions,
Until fleeting life on this earth ends.
Let every word that comes from my mouth,
And every thought of my heart be pure.
Let them be acceptable in Your sight.
Oh, Lord, let my faithfulness endure.
Psalm 19
~ Fern Hanlin Coberly ~
DO OTHERS SEE JESUS IN ME?
As I walk each day before them,
Do others see Jesus in me?
When I say that I am a Christian,
Do others readily agree?
Or can they point at some things
I habitually do or say
And conclude that I do not always
His Word and His will obey?
Lord, let me each day I live
Take my lessons from You.
As I read Your Word faithfully,
Teach me what I should do.
May the Holy Spirit fully equip me
To reflect Your loving care.
As I minister to those about me,
Let me Your love declare.
~ Fern Hanlin Coberly ~
IT IS NEVER TOO LATE
It is never too late
To ask God to come to your aid.
You may be despondent - thinking all is lost,
But He'll be there - don't be afraid.
He is 'on duty' at all hours,
Whether daytime or midnight dark.
He hears, He loves, He answers,
He heeds your every remark.
Don't ever believe it's hopeless,
Know that God can answer prayer.
In His infinite wisdom,
He sends help beyond compare.
He is available to His child
Even at the midnight hour.
He can and will care for you,
All problems He can overpower.
~ Fern Hanlin Coberly ~
"Go to Him at midnight."
Luke 11:15
"God will help us when the sun comes up."
Psalm 46:5 (Spanish)
IF
I can spend a lifetime in doubt,
Always wondering what could have been.
If I had done things differently,
If I had tried harder the battle to win.
If only circumstances had been altered,
If only my efforts had not been in vain.
If I didn't have to live with disappointment,
If I had the advantages others gain.
If trouble could be gone from my life,
If only I had better opportunities to serve,
If I had the time to do more work,
If I received the rewards I deserve.
If I would use the talents God gave to me,
If I would witness to those about,
If I completely trusted in His wisdom,
I would have no room for doubt.
~ Fern Hanlin Coberly ~
"If thou hadst been there."
John 11:21
"God often plants His flowers among rough rocks."
ON HIS WORD WE CAN REST
Upon God's Word we can rest
Each and every day.
We know that it is the best
To show us the way.
What Jesus has spoken
Is as true now as then.
His Word cannot be broken.
We've proved it again and again.
upon His Word we can rest.
It is strong, it is sure.
By it we are constantly blest.
It is sweet and pure.
Upon His Word we can stand,
It can never die.
Christ seals it by His hand,
He can never lie.
His Word abideth forever
As a constant guide.
We know it will not fail - no never.
As long as in its truths we abide.

"God is ever true to His promises."
I Corinthians 1:9 (Weymouth)
"God is always geater than His promises;
He does not only fulfill His promises, He over-fills them."
ALONE WITH GOD
When life becomes unpleasant
And the rough road I have trod,
What a pleasure it is to shut my door
And be completely alone with God.
When the dark clouds gather 'round me
And I find I've passed 'under the rod',
I know I can find comfort
When I'm alone with God.
When evening comes and twilight fades
And my head begins to nod,
I know its time to close the door
And enjoy my time with God.
My blessings flood o'er my mind
And my spirit gives my heart a prod
To record my many thoughts
About my precious time with God.

MY MOTHER'S BIBLE
My mother's Bible is tattered and
torn,
Stained with a tear here and there.
The cover is limp from hours of use,
And its pages are yellowed with wear.
Her marginal notes reveal her
thoughts,
And what it meant each day,
As she faithfully read God's Holy Word
And knelt by her bedside to pray.
Her prayers were for her family,
As she guided them through life.
God granted them a measure of health,
And grace for the days of strife.
The heritage she left for us
Was one of faith and trust
In her God and His Holy Word,
And how to be honest and just.
Her Bible remains as a reminder
Of the exemplary life she led,
Of the life she shared with those she loved
And the many prayers she said.
May each of us take the lessons
we learned
From this precious saint of God,
And apply them to our daily lives
As on this earth we trod.
May we follow the examples she
set,
And read our Bible each day,
And never forget to thank our God,
As we kneel by our bedside to pray.

SPRING - NEW BIRTH
Over and over and over again
God sends His love to earth.
Each spring it appears with freshness
Bringing joy with each new birth.
New flowers sprout from the old,
New life springs forth from the dead.
New songs greet us with each new day,
New experiences await ahead.
He sends us love from His storehouse
To delight us day after day.
He gives a new desire to serve Him
And sends directions when we pray.
Our Lord never changes,
We can depend upon His love.
Each new day as we meet with Him,
He sends His message from above.
~ Fern Hanlin Coberly ~
"For I am the Lord, I change
not."
Malachi 3:6
"His goodness is ever new;
His kindness
always outpoured, His tenderness greater
than our uttermost demand, and the same
springtime over and over is sent by the
same dear Lord and Father."

THE TOUCH OF THE MASTER
Do you sometimes feel old and
ineffectual?
The days of your service in the past?
Surrender your remaining strength to the Master,
And keep your faith steadfast.
He can take your used up,
battered life
And restore it to usefulness once more.
It only takes the touch of the Master
To make you as helpful as before.
Give Him the broken 'strings'
that have snapped,
And the 'bow' that is battered and bent.
He can take your useless shattered life
And make music the angels have sent.
It only takes the 'touch of the
Master'
To bring out what we once had.
When His healing hand takes control,
He makes good from the bad.
~ Fern Hanlin Coberly ~
"So you are in mine
hand."
Jeremiah 18:6
KEEP IN STEP WITH GOD
We must set our daily pace
In perfect step with God.
May we walk closely to Him
As on this earth we trod.
May each morning find us
In our quiet place
Asking God for guidance
When we seek His face.
May the fruit of His Spirit
Be found in us each day.
Let love, joy, peace and patience
Be present in us we pray.
May we be gentle and good to
others,
May we have faith and self-control.
May we put others first always.
Lord, help us reach our goal.
~ Fern Hanlin Coberly ~
"The fruit of the Spirit is
love, joy,
peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness,
faith,meekness, temperance...And they
that are Christ's have crucified the flesh
with the affections and lusts. If we live
in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit."
Galatians 5:22-25
AMONG THE ASHES
We do not wish
for trials to come,
But in this life - they will.
The way we accept them is crucial.
We can't let them our spirit kill.
We must learn to
pick up the pieces
And rebuild a life worth living.
Among the ashes of our past
Are live coals which are life-giving.
We may feel that
we are useless,
Drained of energy - filled with pain.
God can take a little that's 'dead',
And give it new life again!
God gives us
grace to rise again,
To overcome each obstacle in our way.
His love is true whatever comes,
He will gently guide us day by day.
"...to give
unto them beauty for ashes, the
oil of joy for mourning, the garment of
praise for the spirit of heaviness: that
they might be called trees of righteousness,
the planting of the Lord, that He might be
glorified. Isaiah 61:3
TO HIMSELF
God brings me to
Himself
And my sure solace can be.
He reaches down deeply within
And gives me loving sympathy.
When I am in
sorrow and loved ones
Have failed my comfort to be,
Then I hear Him silently whisper,
"Find your comfort in Me."
He says,
"Come unto Me, not to others
For the comfort that is best.
Only in Me lies love and solace,
Only in Me will you find rest."
He Himself will
transport me
To a place of heavenly bliss.
Others will constantly disappoint me,
As they my problems so easily dismiss.

"I...brought
you unto myself."

"And on, the
wonder of it! when God
brought us home to our resting place
beside Himself." Henry W. Frost
JULY 4, 2002
What does the 4th of July
Mean to America this year?
More flags flying? More prayers said?
Saddened lives as we hold back a tear?
Are we more patriotic?
Is our country any more dear?
Do we trust in God more?
Or do we live in fear?
Have we lost the precious freedom
We have enjoyed since our country began?
Do we look forward to the future,
Or are we afraid to plan?
Our god is still on the throne.
Our fate in His hand He holds.
Only if we trust Him more fully,
Will He bless as our future unfolds.
~ Fern Hanlin Coberly ~
GOD'S RICHES
God's riches are extensive,
Greater than our finite minds can comprehend.
Man, with his great knowledge and technology,
Can never explore them all - they are without end.
God has such love for His children,
He has given us vast riches to enjoy each day.
His love reaches down to us,
When we take the time to pray.
This earth is filled with beautiful sites,
Wonders abound for us to explore.
We can see God's hand in everything.
Who could ask for anything more?
~ Fern Hanlin Coberly ~
IF GOD
If God can form a delicate bud
On the stem of a red, red rose,
If He can weave a spider's lacy web,
And at even make the morning glory close.
If He can make a delicate dewdrop
Shine like a diamond in the sun,
If He can draw the curtain of night
When the declining day is done.
If He can make the mighty ocean
Obey His greatest command,
If He can form the highest mountain,
With only a wave of His hand.
If He can cause the sun to set
In a blaze of glory for all to see,
If He can set the moon on high,
Certainly, He can do what He wants with me!
~ Fern Hanlin Coberly ~
"Oh, Lord God! Behold, thou hast made the
heaven and the earth by thy great power and
stretched out arm, and there is nothing too
hard for Thee." Jeremiah 32:17
A COMPLETED HEART
The flower can reach individuality
Only when filled with sunshine.
So the human heart is incomplete
Without Christ's love to refine.
"He is the vine, we are the branches."
If we do not bear any fruit, He will take us away.
If we bear little fruit He will purge us
So we cam bear much fruit every day.
The branch cannot bear fruit of itself.
He gives power to His own.
we are to abide in Him to receive strength.
We cannot bear fruit alone.
"Without Him we can do nothing."
Our own efforts will be in vain.
We are weak - without strength
Without Him in our hearts to reign.
As the flower absorbs the sun
From which it receives its life,
We, too, must absorb the SON
To help us live above strife.
~ Fern Hanlin Coberly ~
"I AM THE VINE"
Lord, I want my life to bear fruit,
Fruit that will honor Thee.
Let me give my life completely.
To do Your will is my plea.
I want joy and peace which comes
As I surrender to Your will.
Please let me know what You'd have me do
As my service to You I fulfill.
Let me not struggle needlessly
To bring forth my own fruit,
But may I live as close to You
As the vine branch to the root.
Let my love be so deep and strong
That my union with You will be
One in which You replace my will
And Your love shall flow through me.
~ Fern Hanlin Coberly ~
A Moment In The Morning
O Lord, in the morning, I will look up to Thee.
I will direct my prayer to You.
I know You will be with me
As I live the whole day through.
I take a moment in the morning
Before my cares begin,
Before I open the outside door
And let the world enter in.
There alone with Jesus,
In the silence at beginning of the day,
I can kneel and let my heart
Be refreshed as I pray.
The quiet brings a blessing
As I listen to His voice.
My heart is lifted upward
As in His Name I rejoice!
~ Fern Hanlin Coberly ~
"My voice shall thou hear in the morning,
O Lord, in the morning will I direct my
prayer unto thee and will look up."
Psalm 5:3
What Is Age?
What is age - but matured youth?
A richer, fuller life.
A closer walk with the Master
Who eases us through stress and strife.
The first forty years were preparation time
For the many years to come.
Whether they be twenty-thirty or forty or more
Before we to death succumb.
God has measured our number of years.
He, and only He, knows how soon
This life on earth will be ended
From death we are not immune.
But what is most important
Is how we spend these precious years.
How much we accomplish for Him and others
As our time to move on nears.
~ Fern Hanlin Coberly ~
"I want to be thoroughly used
up when I die,
for the harder I work, the more I live. Life
candle for me. It is a sort of splendid touch which
I have got hold of for a moment, and I want it to burn
as brightly as possible before handing it on to future generations."
~ Selected ~
Gone Are the Days
Gone are the days
When we romped on the farm,
With loving parents
To guard us from harm.
Gone are the carefree days
Of rambunctious youth.
Now it is difficult for us
To face the truth
That those bygone days
Are in the past,
And the companionship
We had did not last.
But each of us must go on
With the life we've been given to live,
Accepting the disappointments and blessings
Our God has chosen to give.
Things in life have changed.
Some have progressed - some have regressed,
But, through it all God remains true.
As daily we are loved and blessed.
~ Fern Hanlin Coberly ~
COUNT IT ALL JOY
Can we look backward
At the troubles we've had
And see that God meant good
Instead of bad?
Can we learn to "count it all joy",
And sit quietly and accept our fate,
When God allows trouble
To come - our life to complicate?
Some day we'll look back
And understand and be glad
For all the misfortunes and woes,
And set-backs we've had.
We will thank God for all of them,
Knowing He allowed them for our good.
We will be stronger in our faith
Because of the ills we withstood.
~ Fern Hanlin Coberly ~
"God meant it unto good." Genesis 50:20
WE LOOK BACK
We look back to yesteryear
And yearn for the days gone by.
No matter how sweet they were,
Memories do not satisfy.
We need to have the joy anew
As we face life each day.
It's in the heart that feelings start
And they multiply as we pray.
It's only when Jesus lives within
That our joy is evident without.
We must receive it fresh every day,
And share it as we spread it about.
~ Fern Hanlin Coberly ~
THANKSGIVING DAY
We celebrate Thanksgiving Day
By gathering with family and friends,
But let us not forget the most important Guest
And all the blessings that He sends.
If our God did not bless us,
We would be very poor indeed.
He watches over us constantly
And supplies our every need.
Thanksgiving is a time for sharing
With those less fortunate than we,
A time for us to thank our God,
Who from sin has set us free.

"Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not his benefits."
Psalm 103:2
MY CUP RUNNETH OVER
The life that God
has given us
Is the 'cup' from which we must drink.
He has filled my 'cup' with blessings
Much greater than I think.
When I observe the hardships of others,
I recognize how goo dHe is to me.
How He sent His ony Son to die,
That I from sin could be set free!
How bountifully He provides my every need
Each day I live for Him.
The sunshine chases away the shadows.
He fills my 'cup' up to the brim.
Some days my 'cup' runneth over,
It is more than I can bear.
I must rejoice and praise His Name
When He joins me in my prayer.
May I always see His goodness
In everything that comes my way.
May I lift my 'cup' up to Him
And from His love never stray.
~ Fern Hanlin Coberly ~
"Thou preparest a table before me in the presence
of mine enemies: thou annointest my head with oil:
my cup runneth over."
Psalm 23:5
DO NOT FRET
Do not fret about tomorrow,
God has it in His loving hand.
Do not ruin your life today
With a future you can't understand.
Has your God not promised
To be with you 'alway' until the end?*
He can manage all of your troubles
And be your "Wondrous Friend".
With Him always at your side,
What can life bring that you can't stand?
Remember - He is with you always
And has promised to hold your hand.**

If We Trust
As the shepherds faithfully watched
The Good Shepherd was coming to earth.
The world stood still that magic night,
The night of the Christ Child's birth.
Lost sheep seek the Shepherd's love
As the shepherds sought the Child that night.
He is waiting to protect and guide
As He leads us to the
light.
As we sing "Savior, Like A Shepherd Lead Us"
Our hearts are filled with love.
If we trust, He will eventually lead us
To our Father Who is waiting above.
~ Fern Hanlin Coberly ~

What Does Christmas Mean To You?
What does Christmas mean to you?
A hurried time with too
much to do?
A time to shop and push
and shove,
As you purchase gifts for those you love?
To fret and wonder what
presents to buy?
To worry about wrapping and bows to
tie?
Is it a time to cook and bake
Delicious food for your
friends to take?
Stop
a moment, my friend, and rest,
This kind of
Christmas would be best:
A time to read about a winter night
When Bethlehem's star was shining bright.
When God, Himself, came down to earth
In the miracle of His own Son's birth.
The world in wonderment stopped to gaze
As angels sang in glorious praise.
Long ago Christ our Savior was born
On that memorable Christmas morn.
He came from Heaven to earth to live,
Mankind eternal life to give.
Let us on this next Christmas Day
Remember to take time to pause and pray
And thank our God for the gift He gave.
This Christ-child came our souls to save.
I hope your Christmas comes to mean
More to you since the Christ you've seen.

Our God Has A Plan
Our God has a perfect plan
Designed for each child of His.
It comes from His caring love
The greated love there is.
We cannot see what His plan is,
We must trust that it is the best.
We know His love is with us,
Whether He allows peace or test.
For now His plan may be unclear,
His purpose yet untold.
He only asks that we live in faith
As we watch His plan unfold.
He knew from our conception
Just what our life would be.
He knew we would become impatient
Wanting our future to see.
We cannot know exactly what plan
He has in store for our life.
Perhaps we could not face it,
If it were filled with stress and strife.
So, we must leave it all up to Him,
Trusting in His great love.
He may not reveal what is ahead,
Until we meet with Him above.

Our God Goes On Before Us
God goes on before us
To make our pathway straight.
But He also follows closely behind us
Our fears to dissipate.
He is always in the right place,
Always at the right time.
Ever there to assist us
Over each mountain that we climb.
When each crises comes to us,
He will tell us how to react.
He does not tell us too soom,
But - He'll be there - that's a known fact!
So, I will not worry
About what is ahead or behind,
Because I know when I get there,
My Protector I will find.

The New Year
We are entering a New Year - a new life
If we have rightly learned the lessons of the past,
There lies before us an infinite source of blessings.
Blessings that are sure and steadfast.
How delightful it is to have God's assurance
As we go through sorrow and hard places
How comforting are His precious words,
When God our soul with love embraces.
We are told that pleasures come from the heart of trials,
That patience comes from tribulation.
Oh, how sweet to find that our God is waiting
To lead us away from all temptation.
"Blessed is the man that endureth temptation,
For when he is tried he shall receive the crown of life
Which the Lord hath promised to them that love Him."
He will help us rise above the trouble and strife.
Let us claim our inheritance this coming year,
And in our troubled times God's opportunity find.
The greatest challenge of our faith
As we leave the old year and its problems behind.

MY VALENTINE TO YOU!
On this day reserved for 'lovers',
I can express many kinds of love.
First, my love for GOD THE FATHER,
As He watches from Heaven above.
Second, my abundant love for FAMILY,
Which all human love transcends.
It will remain steadfast and true
'Til our earthly existence ends.
Next, my love for SPECIAL FRIENDS
And the precious moments we share.
My heart overflows with joy
When they show how much they care.
I have a love for ACQUAINTANCES
Who happen to pass my way.
A smile, a word, a wave of the hand
Can brighten a weary day.
Do find your place in my world of love,
And be assured that it is true,
When I pen these age-old words.
Which say, "I LOVE YOU!"

Give What You Have
The Lord expects us to be kind
To those we meet on our way.
It may just be a gentle word
That we lovingly say.
It may be a generous deed
We do to help a brother.
It may be some of our wealth
That we share with another.
There are so many ways
God has blessed us in our life.
He wants us to help those about
And try to relieve their strife.
It may be the simple smile
We give as we pass their way.
Or it could be the encouraging hug
We share with someone today.
Whatever it may be that God
Has for you to do -
"Do unto others as you
Would have them do unto you."

SAVE ME FROM BEING HARD
The closer we live with Jesus,
The sweeter we'll be each day.
His love will channel through us.
He fills us when we pray.
Those about us will recognize
The love we freely display
As having permeated our life
When we His perfect will obey.
And as our daily duties crowd
Out our time of meditation and prayer,
We must find the time to commune with Him.
He is always waiting there.
His love will make us kind and gentle,
If we allow Him to work in our life.
He will give us grace to follow His lead,
As we face our trouble ad strife.
Our relationship with others
Will be filled with His love,
When we give Him our time and talents,
As we anticipate our life with Him above.

OUR LORD NEVER CHANGES
Over and over and
over again,
God sends His love to earth.
Each Spring it appears with freshness,
Bringing joy with each new birth.
New flowers sprout
from the old.
New life springs forth from the dead.
New songs greet us with each new day.
New experiences await just ahead.
He sends new love from His storehouse
To delight us day after day.
He gives a new desire to serve Him
And sends directions as we pray.
Our Lord never
changes.
We can depend upon His love.
Each new day as we meet with Him,
He sends His message from above.

GOD IS WITH YOU
Sometimes God allows
the 'gray' times
To come into our life.
We oft times become disheartened
When faced with stress and strife.
We must see these
times as opportunities
To grow closer to the Lord;
To grow in grace and learn to face them
Until our fellowship is restored.
Many times we must
search for the beauty
That lies behind the gloom.
God always has a ray of sunshine
The darkness to consume.
The next time you
feel that
The sun will never shine again.
Just remember God is with you.
He will send you peace within.

"Perfect
through suffering."
Hebrews 2:10
HE KNEW BEST
Someday, when life
is drawing to a close,
When the years have multiplied and we
Know that our days are numbered on this earth,
God, keep us close and set our spirit free.
Free to worship You
in spirit and in truth.
"Shut up unto the faith" our fathers knew.
Knowing this is how You want us to live.
Keep us close and eager to follow You.
Let us remember the
unpleasant times
Which drew us even closer to You.
These were lessons we needed to learn
And You were there to see us through.
Perhaps, at time, we
rebelled against Your will
And thought that we knew best.,
But You continued to allow our grief
And eventually we were blest.
When these troubled
times are behind us
And You call us to our eternal rest,
Then we will see and clearly understand
That You, our Father, knew what was best!
Hold On - Have Faith
Hold on - have faith - better days are coming.
God in His goodness will not leave us forlorn.
He always sends sunshine after the rain
With new life our surroundings to adorn.
We need those tests and trials in our life
To make us appreciate the good.
God, in His wisdom, knows what's best.
At the end We'll be thankful we withstood.
We may think He has forgotten and abandoned us,
That His love for His child has ceased,
But if we hold on with faith and endurance,
We find our trust and assurance has increased.

Things Not Seen
In the spring time we eagerly await
For the grass and flowers to grow.
We watch them awake from their winter's nap,
To put on their spring-time show.
In winter we can see them in our mind's eye,
As we wait patiently for them to appear,
Knowing that after the cold, harsh winter,
The sun will coax them out at this special
time of the year.
So, is our life - as we wait for Heaven's call,
We can see the beautiful, wondrous home above
Prepared for God's children awaiting there,
Where for eternity we will bask in our Savior's love.

"While we look not at things which are seen,
but at the things which are not seen."
Second Corinthians 4:18
God Comes Closer
When our physical strength fails
And we don't know where to turn,
It's then our God Comes closer,
As spiritual truths we learn.
When our life becomes quieter
And our activities cease,
It's then our God comes closer
And gives us inner peace.
We must have the patience
To wait on God to show
Us a new pathway,
And teach us which way to go.
As long as there is breath in our body,
We can live a useful life.
God will strengthen us spiritually
As we face the strife.
